KURT B. YOUNG, Ph.D.,

Dr. Young, IREPA's founder, holds the Ph.D. in political science from Clark Atlanta University with concentrations in government, urban politics, international Politics and African politics. Scholarly interests include public policy, African & Caribbean Political Economy, and Pan-Africanism. Dr. Young has taught political science for almost ten years, with a focus on international relations, comparative public policy, American government and research methods. In addition to academic experience, Dr. Young brings nearly a decade of research to IREPA's consultation services. Specific areas of research expertise include qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques pertaining to social issues, demographic trends, community economic conditions, housing-related policies, development, and international political economy. Noted projects include research for the City of Atlanta Blue Ribbon Commission on the Olympic Park Bombing and a study of housing policy, trends and economic development of Atlanta, Georgia communities.

Lena Young-Green possesses close to twenty (20) years of experience as a senior legislative assistant in the Florida State Legislature. With her first-hand involvement in internal and external state governmental operations, leadership in legislative policy research, and management of constituent affairs, Ms. Green directs IREPA's government-related consulting and lobbying services.
In addition, Ms. Young-Green brings expertise in resident board development and capacity building. Ms. Green has extensive grant writing experience for federal, state and local programs and serves on boards of numerous civic and community entities and non-profits. Ms. Young-Green has been instrumental in securing grant funding for a number of community organizations including the Tampa Heights Junior Civic Association.
In addition, Ms. Young-Green brings expertise in resident board development and capacity building.
